A big hello to all intelligent life forms everywhere! If you're here, it's no doubt because you have some interest, mild or wild, for Douglas Adams' wholly remarkable British sci-fi comedy series known as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a series which is largely concerned with an equally remarkable book by the same title. Here you'll find plenty of useful information and entertaining time-wasting goodies for the modern Hitchhiker's fan. You may also find that this site contains many omissions and much that is apochryphal, or at least widely inaccurate. We greatly encourage contributions.

If you're a new fan looking for the essential knowledge pertaining to the series, you might find our section on Everything You Never Wanted to Know About The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy But Have Been Forced to Find Out particulary helpful.

Also, please beware that a good deal of the information contained on this site includes SPOILERS for the series. The amount of detail varies and isn't ever specified, but if you are not familiar with the entire series and wish to get familiar with it entirely free of spoilers, it might be best to avoid the info pages for now.

Spam Cleanout

Both the gallery and wiki were flooded with spam so I have finally gone through and cleaned everything out. As a final precaution, I also removed the ability for user registration for both. I'm sad it's come to this, but it was necessary to avoid another flood of spam. I swear, spambots will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.

Guestbook and Poll

I've just re-opened the guestbook with a new script that has spam protection on it. Unfortunately all former guestbook entries were lost, good with the bad.

Also, a new poll script is being used with a new poll question. Happy voting!

More Cleanup

The Gallery is now running on coppermine. All previous accounts from the old gallery have been deleted, however you no longer need to be registered in order to view the images. You do, however, need to register if you want to contribute your own fan art or icons. 2000+ caps from the movie have been added to the movie gallery.

Also, there were some issues with hacking on the old server in the Info section which has now been cleaned up. As well the Douglas Adams guide has been added.

Updates are now powered by CuteNews. I will be installing new scripts for the poll and guestbook now too.

Finally, due to certain server issues, I will be removing the blogcrew from the site. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Server Move

The site has moved to a new server and as a result, there may be some messy errors around the site. We are also going to convert some of the scripts running on the site that are a little more compatible with the new server. Thanks for your patience.

Small Update

I've added a new poll to the site on the subject of sequels. If there's an option that's not there that you'd like to see there, please leave a comment and perhaps I will add it.

Also, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie comes to DVD Tuesday, Sepetember 12th. It was already released in the UK on the 5th. DVD screen caps of the entire film, as well as the special features, will be up in the gallery soon.
