Zaphod Beeblebrox, adventurer, ex-hippy, good-timer, manic self-publicist, terribly bad at personal relationships, once described by Eccentrica Gallumbits as "The Best Bang Since the Big One," and just recently, a crook too. His family lineage is a product of an accident involving a contraceptive and a time machine. Being the inventor of the greatest drink in the Universe, he knows how to have a good time, and among his favourite pick up lines is the classic, "I'm from another planet," which he uses to win over an Earthling named Trillian. He takes great joy in excitement, adventure and really wild things. He'll usually let this lust for adventure (and, as is often the case, lust for fame and fortune) cloud his judgement. Of course, it's not all about having a good time, it's also about doing it in style. He has the ego the size of... well, if there's anything as big as his ego or bigger, he'd have it caught and shot imediately. His job as president was that of a facade. While he holds the title of President of the Galaxy, he weilds no power whatsoever, and is merely a distraction for the public so that no one finds out that the real Ruler of the Universe is hiding out in a shack somwhere (and quite possible deranged). His ability to constantly draw attention to himself makes him the perfect candidate for President. Zaphod Beeblebrox's rein as President was part of a conspiracy of such a secretive nature, that even he himself was not allowed to know about it.
