Fanlisting Index :: Codes :: Fans :: Join :: Edit

The world of fandoms is big. Really big. I mean you just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is.... (and so on). With fandoms being the size they are, and there being so many of them, it is easy to get a Hitchhiker's fan confused with a bunch of mindless fanjerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. In fact, the chances of you being recognized as a fan are two to the power of 276,709 to 1 against. By a totally staggering coincidence that also happens to be the telephone number of someone who has absolutely nothing to do with Hitchhiker's whatsoever, so please stop calling him. The best way to make it known that you are a fan and show off your love and dedication to this subject is to join what is called a fanlisting and display a clever little button on your website explaining to all the other strags that you are a fan. This is the only fanlisting listed at TheFanlisting.org for the movie version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The Guide has this to say on the subject of Fanlistings...
A fanlisting does exactly what its name suggests. That is, it lists fans of any particular subject. Fanlistings can be created for a wide selection of subjects, not just entertainment related, but also history, fashion, food, technology, sports, and many more miscellaneous topics. Their purpose is to unite fans around the world and to give people the opportunity to proudly display all the things they are a fan of on their website. One fanlisting for each subject can be listed at TheFanlisting.org so that fans can easily find the fanlisting they're looking for, and all fans find the same listing. The Guide also cautions their highly addictive nature.

The Guide has this to say on the subject of The Movie...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable film. It is the most remarkable, certainly the most successful (albeit the only) film ever to come out of the great production company of Hammer & Tongs. More popular than the latest star-studded romp, better selling than this summer's hottest action sequel, and more controversial than Michael Moore's trilogy of political blockbuster's Where Bush Went Wrong, Some More of Bush's Greatest Mistakes and Who is this Bush Person Anyway? It has been in "development hell" for more than two decades and was finally green lit shortly after Douglas Adams' death. Everyone working on the film knew how much Douglas wanted to see this film get made, and it is clear by the attention to detail and dedication that this film is a tribute to his memory. For further information, consult this site's H2G2 Introduction, the Versions Guide, the different sections of the gallery, categories 1-5 inclusive, and pretty much the rest of the site.
